As humans, we share an innate desire for homeostasis—a sense of comfort, well-being, and balance. Feng Shui can be used to create this within ourselves and in our environment by balancing the five elements, applying the bagua, and proper placement of structures and furnishings.

Thousands of years ago the bagua was developed from the I Ching (Book of Changes), a form of divination and guidance for how to live with spiritual intention. Each area of the Bagua is associated with a particular area of life and also contains a deeper message for us—a spiritual key for living with higher purpose and a way for us to connect to all life of the universe.

Superimposing the bagua over a space indicates where each area of life is represented. If you desire to make changes in your life, that intention is supported by making changes or enhancements in the corresponding area of your home.

Just as a weight loss program is supported by removing high calorie foods from your kitchens, changes you desire in career, relationships, prosperity, etc., are supported by changes in your home.

You also have an “Inner Bagua” driving your intentions for how you live and the outcomes you create. Your Inner Bagua can be thought of as a map of your consciousness--your Inner Dynamics—the core beliefs about each area of your life. There is a direct connection between those beliefs and the outcomes you produce. If a belief is not congruent with the desired result, change may happen; however, the result will not be sustained. Beliefs must support desired changes.

Our Consciousness Creates our Environment and
our Environment Reflects our Consciousness.

Or, simply said: as within, so without.

The Bagua begins in the center—your core of stability and grounding. It could be considered the base of your personal power as every other area of your home and life are touched by the center.

This blog is about life coaching using the principles of Feng Shui. Unless you have been living under a rock, you probably have heard about Feng Shui. Ah so… just what have you heard? And just what does your acquaintance with the ancient art and science have to do with life coaching, that is, your personal growth and development?

Well, quite a lot actually!

We cannot make successful changes in our lives without supportive changes in our homes. When we decide to change our eating habits to become healthier, we usually make changes in what kind of foods stock our shelves. Otherwise, the unhealthy food keeps “calling” us back to old habits. The same is true for any change we desire to make in our life. Our home, which is our own personal paradise, needs to support us in the changes we desire to make.

Enter Feng Shui—the ancient art of creating balance and harmony in our homes through enhanced Ch’i (energy) flow.

Ch’i—the cosmic breath—is the energy that permeates the universe. The ch’i within us—our life force—connects us with the Ch’i of everything else in our universe. Using the principles of Feng Shui we can connect our intentions with the creative force of the universe to manifest our desires.
